Travel

 

Look for flights heading to Bucharest International Airport “Henri Coanda” [OTP]. Then you need to get to Mamaia resort, some 220km away from Bucharest.

TRAIN

2h30min travel time
The train station from where you can leave towards Constanta (closest station to Mamaia) is Gara de Nord. To see the options visit: www.mersultrenurilor.ro and search for: Bucuresti Nord to Constanta.
When you arrive at Constanta you have the option via local transport or cab to get to Mamaia.

BUS

4h travel time
First you need to get to the bus station. The easiest way is with a cab, ordered at the special machine in the airport towards Autogara GSM Trans (Baldovin Parcalabul Street). Second choice is with the bus No, 780 leaving from the lowest level at arrivals till the station “Gara de Nord”, from there you have another 9 min walking distance (here the details : http://goo.gl/FCFBGn) till the bus station.

There is a highway of 208km from Bucharest straight to Mamaia.

HOW TO GET DOWNTOWN

You have three options to get to the city: bus, taxi or train. Info can be found here:

ALTERNATIVE AIRPORT

There is another option – “Mihail Kogalniceanu” Airport – to fly to. Flights from London, Milano, Istanbul fly on a regular basis. The airport is about 36km away from Mamaia. Check the routes here: https://goo.gl/maps/LGTapEmzxgC2

ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORT

If you want a hassle free ride to the seaside, you can also get a taxi. You should negotiate with the driver before you get in. A one way trip should be around 100-150e, a good score for 4 people.

 Where to stay?

Most of the hotels are in walkable distance, 2 to 20min from the venue. Also public transportation, called maxi-taxi, is available for 5-6lei ± 1.5e; just ask the driver to drop you off next to your hotel. Cabs are also an option, but be careful.

Important to know

Romania is in the Eastern European time zone (UTC+2, with a DST of UTC+3 from April to October).

The weather in the beginning of May is pretty variable, cold nights and warm days so pack accordingly.

Access Rules
Read carefully
      1. Access for people under 18 is strictly forbidden.Please bring a valid ID and present it to the security staff if you are asked to do so.
      2. Access to the festival ground is done by purchasing a ticket in advance or by paying directly at the entrance, in the night of the event. The ticket bought in advance grants access at any hour during night time.
      3. Access to the festival ground starts at 22:30.
      4.  You are allowed to leave the festival ground after 02:00. Please keep the wristband intact, otherwise you will be asked to pay again the ticket.
      5. You must wear your wristband at all times. If you are found without the wristband, you will be escorted outside the festival area.
      6. Always follow the instructions of our staff, security, parking and emergency services personnel.
      7. No fireworks, weapons and sharp or dangerous objects or else they will be confiscated by our security personnel.
      8. It’s not allowed to bring food / beverage / drinks.
      9. No (professional) photo / film / video / audio equipment (standard digital-cameras / phones allowed). To use professional equipment you need an agreement in written form from the organisers.
      10. Access is at your own risk.
      11. The ticket holder voluntarily assumes all risks and danger incidental to the event for which the ticket is issued, whether occurring prior to, during, or after the event. The ticket holder voluntarily agrees that the Sunwaves ticket, management, venue, event participants are expressly released by the ticket holder from any claims arising from such causes.
      12. At the entrance, there will be different access ways into the festival:
